2024 Belmont Stakes Recap

On Saturday, June 8th, 2024, Dornoch crossed the finish line first with a time of 2:01.64 in the historic 156th running of the Belmont Stakes. Hosted for the first time at Saratoga Racecourse, it was a historic moment for all Belmont Experiences Official Ticket Package Holders in attendance.

Dornoch secured the win at the final leg of the Triple Crown on his inaugural showing at the event. Co-owned by MLB World Series Champ, Jayson Werth, this horse flew under the radar this season before surprising race spectators with this win. 

With both the 2024 Kentucky Derby Winner Mystik Dan and the 2024 Preakness winner Seize The Grey in attendance, the competition was fierce. Dornoch beat out the close second, Mindframe, and the expected winner, Sierra Leone, for victory with longshot 17:1 odds.
